Mental Health is not just a career for me, it’s a passion. My goal is to collaborate with you in a therapeutic environment. I want to help you understand your journey, while implementing change. Throughout our lives we all go through difficult times and challenges, but you don’t have to go down these roads alone. Together, we can help you heal wounds from the past and achieve a stronger sense of self. I want to empower you to create not only a life you want, but a life you love. Sometimes, life just happens and obstacles get in our way. Together, we can navigate around those obstacles and chose a path that’s right for you. I want to help guide you on your journey in a safe, nurturing, and confidential environment, so that you are able to explore deep personal growth and healing. Life is about choices, but sometimes you just need help making them.
I began my social work career working for Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. I worked with families and children of all ages who were victims of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect. The majority of my experience included working with individuals suffering from a wide range of mental illnesses including depression, PTSD, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. While obtaining my LMSW, I worked at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Hospital located in Houston, Texas. There I was trained in Trauma work and grief therapy; specifically associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I worked directly with combat exposed soldiers returning from OEF/OIF post 911 wars that witnessed and experienced traumatic events; including military sexual trauma that affected them both mentally and physically. Currently, I provide therapeutic treatments for individuals, couples, and children of gender diverse populations, addressing a broad range of issues including: sexuality, anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, sexual assaults, personality disorders, PTSD, life transitions, spirituality and personal growth.
