I am so excited to be a part of the NewPath Counseling Group and the opportunities that come with being part of this team. My goal will be to help you resolve and work through issues in your current season of life… a.k.a. “unpacking”. We will work together to add positive life changes and “pack” healthy coping skills. My integrated counseling approach consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy techniques.
My experiences in counseling children and families began in 1990, when I started my teaching career. I found myself working with young children, many who were carrying emotional “baggage” . After 10 years of teaching, I became a school counselor, serving elementary and middle school students for 14 years. During this time, I received my credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
In addition, I am a member of the Association for Play Therapy (APT), American Counseling Association, and hold credentials as a minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. I served as a women’s ministry leader at my local church for 3 years.
My clinical specialties are childhood, tween, adolescent, and women’s issues. These include anger, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, self-esteem, and stress.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, fishing, camping, and gardening with my husband of 34 years. We have two adult children, three grandchildren, and two spoiled dogs.
