Are you stressed? Worried? Sad most of the time? Dissatisfied with your life the way it is? Find yourself eating too much, drinking too much, sleeping too much or not enough? Feeling hopeless to change your life the way it is? Relationship problems? You are not alone and there is hope for you. If you would like to create a life worth living and even the life you dreamed of having, therapy is one place that can make that happen. I believe we all have the potential to change with the right person to listen and guide us.
For over 20 years I have helped people from age 1 to 100 suffering with depression, anxiety and stress, eating and weight problems, personality disorders, substance abuse, relationship problems, LGBT issues and spiritual issues. My specialty is aging; this includes end-of-life issues, hospice care, long-term care placement, adult children of aging parents, and dementia. I have training in many varieties of therapy, but use what works best for the individual I am seeing.
I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for people to share their burdens and explore new ways of coping with life’s challenges. I build on the strengths the person already has to empower them to create the life that they have always wanted to have and live.
In my spare time, my biggest love is my four-legged child (Shih Tzu) named Tuffy. He will be 14 soon, but still acts like a puppy except for a little hearing and sight loss. Although sometimes I wonder if that is selective. Some things I enjoy are music, singing, reading, knitting, traveling, Broadway shows, movies, the Symphony or just relaxing at home with my family.
